On behalf of PSA, I am delighted to invite you to attend the 45th PSA Offshore Refresher Conference being held in the two outlying UK venues of Edinburgh and Belfast, from 15-24 May, 2020.

Although many of you may have visited the UK on a number of occasions, it is likely you have not ventured to the more distant parts of the UK - Scotland and Northern Ireland. Both have undergone quite a transformation in recent years with the tourists’ interests very much in mind.

With Northern Ireland being the backdrop for the popular “Game of Thrones” series and similarly Edinburgh for the Harry Potter movies, you will likely be aware of the unique travel experience that awaits you. Naturally they will also form the basis for our legendary theme dinners within our program.

Edinburgh still maintains an unmistakeable sense of history in the old town, from the cobbled alleyways to the famous Royal Mile, topped by the massive and majestic Edinburgh Castle. This is counterbalanced by the beautiful Georgian architecture of the New Town and the amazing volcanic landscape upon which the city has been built.

Belfast offers true Irish hospitality; wonderful pub experiences and a fascinating insight into two aspects of its recent history – its shipbuilding past epitomised by the famous Titanic Museum and the legacy of the “Troubles” that lasted for 3 decades from the late 1960’s and concluded at the signing of the Good Friday Peace Agreement in April 1998.

To ensure you have the opportunity of seeing the real Scotland, we have organised a Pre-conference tour through the lochs, mountains and valleys of the Scottish Highlands culminating in a stay at one of the world’s most luxurious country estates, Gleneagles.  We are also offering a three night stay at Gleneagles only for those with limited time, providing an opportunity to try their vast array of country, leisure and sporting pursuits headlined by the famous golf courses.

Knowing our venues are the spiritual home of golf and boast some of the greatest links golf courses in the world, we are also offering an integrated golfing package to enable interested delegates to enjoy them.

The undoubted rigours of the conference program invariably require some recuperation time, so our Post-conference tour will once again be an all-inclusive 8-day luxury cruise aboard Ponant’s ‘Le Boreal’ visiting the remote islands on the west coast of Scotland.

Of course, the main purpose of the conference is to provide an intensive practical array of essential therapeutic education bound to send you home more knowledgeable and enthusiastic about your pharmacy practice. Our esteemed faculty of speakers will again be led by the ever-popular Prof. Peter Carroll delivering the feature stream of Therapeutic Update.

So once again I am confident that our conference program will deliver an exhilarating blend of top-quality education, unique memorable functions, spectacular travel experiences and valuable networking opportunities to delight and refresh you. I look forward to sharing it with you.
