Main Conference Program Speakers

Bruce Annabel
FCA MPS (assoc.) FACP MAICD BA (acc.)

Bruce Annabel is an acknowledged authority on commercial, management and strategic planning issues surrounding the business of community pharmacy and experience with general retailers. He was the founding partner in 1988 of Pitcher Pharmacy Services, a division of Pitcher Partners Chartered Accountants Brisbane, now a consultant. The division includes four partners and 30 support staff, serving the interests of over 700 community pharmacies Australia wide.

Bruce’s depth and breadth of client and broad industry exposure also enables him to have an excellent overview of community pharmacy strategy, financial performance, key performance indicators, benchmarks and practice management. Bruce presents his strategic vision and service proposition concepts to facilitate and implement initiatives aimed at shaping pharmacy businesses to deliver sustainable growth, profitability and improving patient health solution service. He is an advisor to several pharmacy boards and member of industry committees. He writes a monthly column with his close colleague Mal Scrymgeour in the country’s premier pharmacy publication, the Australian Journal of Pharmacy. He was awarded the 2007 Pharmacy Industry Medal of Excellence.

Phillip Artemi
MBBS, Master of Medicine, FACD, BPham

Dr Phillip Artemi is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and is a Medical Practitioner at The Skin Hospital at Westmead, where he conducts Mohs procedures undertaking conventional tissue grafting methods such as mini-grafting and suction blister epidermal grafting, as well as offering for the first time in Australia, cellular grafting techniques such autologous non-cultured melanocyte (epidermal and follicular) transplantation.Dr Artemi has co-authored a book (with Tina Aspres) titled “All About Kids Skin – The Essential Guide For Parents” published by ABC Books and is regularly quoted in the media regarding all matters pertaining to skin.

Terri Foran
MB BS, MClinEd, FAChSHM

Dr Terri Foran is a Sexual Health Physician. After several years in General Practice, she developed a particular interest in sexual and reproductive health and began working at Family Planning New South Wales. She held the position as Medical Director at FPNSW from 1998 to 2004. A growing interest in Medical Education led to a position at UNSW Sydney, where she initially assisted in the develop of the new undergraduate program in Women’s and Children’s Health. She subsequently developed and directed their postgraduate program in Women’s Health medicine. After leaving the university in 2020 Dr Foran has continued to be involved in clinical education, primarily through Healthed, which is a leading provider of quality education for healthcare professionals. Dr Foran has always maintained a clinical interest and most recently has been employed as a Visiting Medical Officer at the Menopause Hub at The Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick in Sydney. She has also worked as an investigator at the Women’s Health and Research Institute of Australia and has published widely in her field.  

Sepehr Shakib
MBBS, FRACP, PhD

Sepehr Shakib is Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Adelaide. He is involved in teaching medical, dental, nursing and health science students in a variety of pharmacology topics. His main interest is in the management of complex patients with multimorbidity and polypharmacy. 

Professor Shakib is a recipient of multiple awards and grants and has over 100 publications in a range of areas. He has been involved in over 250 first in human clinical trials in a wide range of therapeutic areas.
