Discover the family-run business that specialises in producing dried tofu and learn about silk weaving from locals and hear about its deep-rooted origins.

Group Dinner

Explore a culinary adventure tonight that is not just about food, but also about heritage, community and the joy of sharing meaningful moments around the table.  You will be dining at Chef Nak’s antique wooden house where you'll savour delicious Cambodian cuisine made with fresh local ingredients and traditional elevated techniques while local artists serenade you with live traditional music.

The dinner is curated by Chef Nak, whose five-course meal has been rated by Travel and Leisure Magazine as one of the 14 finest dining experiences globally.

In order to have a more intimate dining experience, half of the group will dine with Chef Nak tonight, while the other half have a night at leisure.

For those at leisure this evening, why not consider a Vespa foodie tour?  Traffic in Phnom Penh is quite sedate compared to Hanoi and Saigon, so this is the perfect opportunity to experience Phnom Penh’s nightlife from the back of a vintage Vespa on a 4.5-hour evening tour. Taste authentic Cambodian street food as you enjoy the ride.

Saturday 24 May

Morning City Tour
This morning you will visit Toul Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21 Prison) and the Killing Fields.  The former high school was transformed into a notorious prison and torture centre by the Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s. The museum serves as a powerful and sobering memorial to the victims of the Cambodian genocide, with visitors able to tour the cells, interrogation rooms and learn about the atrocities that occurred here.

Choeung Ek Genocidal Centre (Killing Fields) is located just outside Phnom Penh.  This memorial site marks the location of a former orchard that was used by the Khmer Rouge as an execution ground. Visitors can walk the grounds, view the memorial stupa filled with human skulls and gain a deeper understanding of this dark chapter in Cambodia's history.

This afternoon is at leisure to relax or explore the city a little more at your own pace.  Perhaps visit the "Russian Market," a bustling marketplace that is a hub of local activity and where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant culture, browse an array of handicrafts and engage in the time-honoured tradition of bargaining for goods.

Sunrise Tour of Angkor Wat
Start the morning with a sunrise tour to Angkor Wat.  If the weather is in our favour, we have clear skies in order to witness a spectacular sunrise behind Angkor Wat temple. Built by King Suryavarman II, this tribute to Vishnu is set against the breathtaking canvas of an Angkor sunrise, offering a serene backdrop that contrasts with the temple's storied history. Connect with the relics of a nation's history and draw inspiration from the resilience etched into every stone. After a tour of this magnificent temple, return to the hotel for a sumptuous breakfast.

After time to rest, you will be transferred by tuk tuk for a tour of the Bayon Temple. A masterpiece of late 12th-century Buddhist architecture, the intricate precision and attention to detail is evident in the temple's carvings. Marvel at the enigmatic face towers, their expressions symbolising the wisdom and healing traditions of ancient civilisations. This tour provides valuable insights for an unforgettable experience that will broaden your perspectives and deepen your appreciation for cultural heritage.

After the tour you are at leisure. Why not immerse yourself in the streets of Siem Reap with an outdoor dining experience discovering innovative flavours or indulge yourself with a lunch or spa treatment at the luxurious Raffles Hotel. Take the opportunity to relax after a full day of exploring Cambodian history.

With your evening at leisure, indulge in dinner at the hotel's beautiful restaurants or head out into Siem Reap's night life. Perhaps explore Cambodia's first night market on Angkor Night Market Street.

With shopping available in a vibrant Cambodian setting, enjoy the atmosphere and unwind from the day of tours with both Western and Cambodian cuisines on offer in abundance.
