Edinburgh is one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, draped across a series of rocky hills overlooking the sea. It’s a town intimately entwined with its landscape, with buildings and monuments perched atop crags and overshadowed by cliffs. From the Old Town’s picturesque jumble of medieval tenements piled high along the Royal Mile, its turreted skyline strung between the black, bull nosed Castle Rock and the russet palisade of Salisbury Crags, to the New Town’s neat grid of neoclassical respectability, the city offers a constantly changing perspective.
Our accommodation is the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa Edinburgh, a five-star city resort in the heart of Edinburgh.
Blending contemporary comfort and subtly Scottish finishes, the hotel is located just off the west end of Princes Street, directly opposite the magnificent Usher Hall with Edinburgh castle rising up behind it. Upgrades are available for Castle View Rooms and Executive Rooms with Executive Lounge access.
We have a comprehensive social program planned in Edinburgh & Belfast, commencing with a Welcome Dinner at the Sheraton Grand Hotel. A fun Scottish evening is planned in the restored hidden vaults of Old Town Edinburgh, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is in Edinburgh that JK Rowling found inspiration for Hogwarts, so it is only fitting that our stay here concludes with a Harry Potter themed dinner. Aptly referred to as “Edinburgh’s Sistine Chapel”, Mansfield Traquair is the venue for our themed dinner.
Like a favourite book, Edinburgh is a city you can dip into again and again, savouring a different experience each time.
During the free afternoons, an abundance of castles, museum, dungeons and galleries are waiting to be explored, including the most iconic of them all, Edinburgh Castle. Tours on offer will include a visit to St Andrews, the holy grail and birthplace of golf; the famous Kelpies and The Falkirk Wheel and the world heritage site of New Lanark – an exceptional example of a purpose-built 18th century mill village, set in a picturesque Scottish landscape near the Falls of Clyde.
It is then on to Belfast for the remainder of our main conference program. Culture, history and super-friendly people are what Belfast is all about. This is a city unlike any other in Europe – a city that can trace its history back to the Bronze Age; a city that built Titanic; a city that is forging a unique food scene; and a city that dances to its own beat. From its mighty shipbuilding past to the dynamic arts scene that swirls around the Cathedral Quarter, Belfast likes to mix it up.
Our accommodation in Belfast is the Hilton Belfast, a comfortable, modern hotel in an idyllic location just 2 minutes’ walk to the city centre. The hotel is currently undergoing a renovation so it will have a fresh look for our stay. Upgrades are available to Executive Rooms which include Executive Lounge access.
Our social program kicks off in Belfast with a fun pub night in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter. Enjoy a traditional Belfast welcome with a hearty Irish meal and wander between three traditional and unique pubs for a Guinness, excellent local bands and a good craic. The city’s rapid rise to prosperity is reflected in the extravagance of the City Hall, where PSA guests will receive an official welcome to the city from the Lord Mayor himself.
Our extensive social program peaks with a grand Gala Dinner in which you will step back in time to a period of luxury, elegance and 5-star service of the RMS Titanic!
Learn about Belfast’s troubled history during your spare time with a range of tours to explore the political and social history of this amazing city. Game of Thrones fans can visit a number of key filming locations and everyone should consider a visit to the Titanic Museum, which in our opinion, is one of the best museums in the world.
