JOHANNESBURG/SOWETO/PRETORIA - 19 to 22 September

Our journey begins in Johannesburg, the financial and commercial hub that has been shaping the nation's landscape since its founding in 1886 with the discovery of gold by Australian gold prospector George Harrison. Soon after the discovery of gold, tents and wagons appeared and at the beginning of the 20th Century the city was little more than a dusty gold mining town. By the end of the 20th century the city was to become Africa's most important and wealthiest commercial hubs.

Whilst there, we will venture into the vibrant township of Soweto where history and culture intertwine. Originally founded to house Johannesburg's black residents in a segregated neighbourhood, it has developed into a vibrant and soulful city where we will explore its unique architectural landscape. From the famous Vilakazi Street to the Hector Pieterson Memorial, every corner tells a powerful story.

En route to Sun City takes us to Pretoria, the administrative capital of South Africa. The contrast in architecture couldn't be greater epitomised by the grandeur of the Union Buildings, housing the offices of the President of South Africa and serving as the official seat of the South African Government. Dubbed as the Jacaranda city with over 70,000 trees, in late September we may witness the spectacular blooming along the tree lined streets. Together these cities form a conurbation of approximately 16 million residents

As the first settled region of southern Africa by the Dutch East India Company and Dutch settlers it is referred to the “Mother City”.

Discover why Cape Town regularly rates as one of the world's most beautiful cities to visit. From the iconic Table Mountain with stunning views of the city bowl, to the historic Castle of Good Hope, a remarkable example of Dutch colonial architecture and the vibrant Bokaap neighbourhood, renowned for its kaleidoscopic houses, Cape Town is a microcosm of this "Rainbow Nation".

Visit the renowned Victoria & Alfred Waterfront development which is an example of meticulous planning and innovative design that have transformed this once-industrial area into a thriving hub of commerce, culture, cuisine and architectural excellence.

Our tour will take in a scenic coastal route that boasts some of the most awe-inspiring vistas in the world, as you make your way to the iconic Cape Point. Also discover the beautiful town Stellenbosch with its historic listed Cape Dutch architecture set amidst the Cape Winelands arguably one of the most spectacular wine regions of the world.

VICTORIA FALLS - 01 to 04 October

Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is home to part of Victoria Falls and is named so because “Mosi-Oa-Tunya” means “the smoke that thunders”. At 1,700 metres wide and 100 metres in height, the Victoria Falls are the largest single falling sheet of water on the planet.

The numbers almost seem too impossible to imagine, at 500 million litres of water cascade every minute, the equivalent of 200 Olympic-sized swimming pools, to put things into perspective.

How do you support tourism without spoiling the environment?

Victoria Falls is a unique unspoiled wilderness region where nature and wildlife dominate the landscape and humankind are just privileged observers.

Our discovery in this region will be to explore various developments that blend in perfect harmony with their surrounds, sympathetic design that enhance the amenity of the region while providing visitors with unparalleled experiences.  Adding to your experience, the area is surrounded by wilderness with abundant wildlife roaming the region, lion, elephant, hippo’s, crocodiles, giraffe, zebra and a plethora of antelope and buck
